Background and Significance of the Project
มวยไทยเป็นศิลปะการต่อสู้ที่มีชื่อเสียงและเป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับโลก เป็นทุนทางสังคมที่ยกระดับทางเศรษฐกิจของประเทศเป็นซอฟต์พาวเวอร์ (Soft Power) หลักของประเทศ โดยมีการขับเคลื่อนในด้านการแข่งขัน ด้านอุตสาหกรรมกีฬา ด้านการสุขภาพและการออกกำลังกาย ด้านธุรกิจและการท่องเที่ยว ด้านการบริหารจัดการ และด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรม ส่งผลทำให้เกิดผลกระทบทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคมในภาพรวมของประเทศได้เป็นอย่างดี ซึ่งที่ผ่านมามหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ ได้มีการส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนกิจกรรมด้านมวยไทย และจัดตั้งสถาบันมวยไทยแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ โดยมีภารกิจในการถ่ายทอดและเผยแพร่องค์ความรู้ด้านมวยไทย ตลอดจนการศึกษาค้นคว้าวิจัย สร้างนวัตกรรม เพื่อสนับสนุนงานด้านมวยไทยให้กับประเทศ
การจัดประชุมวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ เป็นกิจกรรมหนึ่งซึ่งทำให้เกิดการเผยแพร่ แลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ ผลงานวิจัย ประสบการณ์ รวมถึงการพัฒนาเครือข่ายความร่วมมือ และเพื่อถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์และองค์ความรู้ทั้งในกลุ่มของผู้ทำงานวิจัย และผู้สนใจทั่วไป สถาบันมวยไทยแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการวิจัยและการเผยแพร่ผลงานวิจัย จึงได้ร่วมกับองค์กรมวยไทยทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ จำนวน ๒๔ องค์กร ดำเนินการจัดงานประชุมวิชาการระดับนานาชาติขึ้น เพื่อเป็นเวทีให้คณาจารย์ นักวิจัย นิสิต นักศึกษา ผู้จัดการค่ายมวยไทย ผู้ฝึกสอนมวยไทย และนักกีฬามวยไทย ได้นำเสนอผลงานวิจัยระดับนานาชาติ เพื่อเผยแพร่องค์ความรู้ใหม่ๆ ในด้านมวยไทยในมิติต่างๆ อีกทั้งเพื่อเป็นการเปิดโอกาสให้เกิดการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และประสบการณ์ระหว่างนิสิต นักศึกษา คณาจารย์ และนักวิจัย ทั้งยังเพื่อสนับสนุนให้เกิดการพัฒนาคุณภาพและมาตรฐานงานวิจัยได้ต่อไป
Muay Thai is a globally recognized martial art and a cultural asset that significantly contributes to Thailand’s economy, serving as one of the country’s key Soft Power elements. It drives multiple sectors, including competitive sports, the sports industry, health and fitness, business and tourism, management, and arts and culture. These factors collectively create substantial economic and social impacts on a national scale.
Kasetsart University has long supported Muay Thai-related activities and established the Kasetsart University Muay Thai Institute to facilitate the dissemination of Muay Thai knowledge. The institute undertakes research, innovation, and academic activities to promote and advance Muay Thai within the country.
The International Academic Conference serves as a platform for knowledge dissemination, research exchange, and collaboration development. It fosters knowledge sharing among researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts in the field. Recognizing the importance of research and academic dissemination, the Kasetsart University Muay Thai Institute, in collaboration with 24 national and international Muay Thai organizations, is organizing this international academic conference.
The conference provides an opportunity for scholars, researchers, students, Muay Thai camp managers, trainers, and athletes to present their research on various aspects of Muay Thai at an international level. It aims to introduce new knowledge in the field, promote discussions, and facilitate knowledge exchange among students, academics, and researchers. Additionally, it seeks to enhance the quality and standards of Muay Thai research for future development.
